FAQ
The questions families ask.
The questions below are the ones families ask us most — often late at night, long before they feel ready to reach out. If yours isn't here, WhatsApp or write to us. There is never any pressure.
What do I actually own?
Your plot is a right of use, secured by a registered servitude — a formal legal right recorded against the property's title deed by a conveyancer. It is not an informal arrangement or a handshake; it is registered in the Deeds Office and exists in law, independently of us.
What happens if the farm is ever sold?
Your right is protected. Because the servitude is registered against the title deed itself, it binds the land — not just the current owner. Any future owner takes the property subject to your registered right. The forest, and your place in it, cannot be sold out from under you.
Who cares for the forest in fifty years?
A care trust, registered with a notary, holds and controls the funds set aside for the forest's care — in perpetuity. The trust exists for one purpose: to make sure the forest is tended long after all of us. It is not dependent on any one person, family or company.
What does a plot cost?
R45 000, once-off — no annual fees, no levies, and nothing added on the day. That includes the plot and its registered servitude, the trees, the ceremony, the marker, the living memorial page and the forest's care in perpetuity.
See exactly what is included →Is this compatible with our faith?
Yes. Every denomination is welcome here, and the ceremony is yours to shape. You choose who leads it — your own dominee, pastor, priest, imam or celebrant — and how it is held. We simply prepare the place.
Can our pets be laid to rest with us?
Yes. Dogs are part of families, and they are welcome in the forest alongside the people who loved them.
Why sixteen square metres? It sounds like a lot for one person.
Because a plot here isn't measured for a coffin — it's measured as a legacy space a family can attend. Room for the trees to grow, for generations of one family to return to the same ground, and for children and grandchildren to sit in the shade of it one day. It is a place to visit, not just a place to rest.
We live far away. How does it work?
Most of our families do. Ashes can be brought or couriered to us whenever your family is ready — there is no deadline after cremation. Many families time the ceremony for a holiday when everyone is already in the area, and we can arrange for the ceremony to be livestreamed for family abroad. WhatsApp us and we'll work out the logistics together.
