Most people plan this for someone they love, after the fact. There is another way: choose your plot now, and your trees are planted now.
When you reserve a plot ahead of need, we plant it straight away. Your ten to fifteen indigenous trees go into the ground at a ceremony you attend — and then they grow, for years, while you live your life.
You can visit your own forest. Picnic under trees that will one day hold your memory. Watch the canopy close over the place your family will return to. It is a strange and wonderful comfort, and families tell us it changes how they feel about the whole thing.
Planting ahead also spares the people you love a decision made in the hardest week of their lives. The place is chosen, the trees are grown, the wishes are written down.
